CENTRE FOR MANAGEMENT STUDIES AND INDUSTRIAL COLLABORATION
The Centre for Management Studies and Industrial Collaboration(CMSIC) was established such a centre was to facilities and expedite interaction between the institute and industry at a larger amd more effective level. The centre is involved in the following activities:
Identifying technical manpower and physical resource capabilities of the institution and effectively providing these to industry.
Identifying industrial expertise in the vicinity and attracting it as an adjunct faculty.
Seeking and arranging 'residency positions' for the faculty in the industry.
Assisting faculty in seeking sponsored research and consultancy from industry, and government funding agencies and providing support for their operations.
Providing administrative support for marketing and conducting 'Continuing Education Programs' for industry personnel.
Liaison with other technical institutions as well as Confederation of Engineering Industries and individual industrial units.
Ensuring transfer of technology generated by the institute.
Promoting interaction between faculty and engineers in industry for curriculum planning, development of instructional resources and seeking finances for joint projects.
Development of institution based information data bank.
The centre has following divisions to handle specific spheres of
activities:
INSTITUTION-INDUSTRY INTERACTION.
MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT CELL.
PROJECT DEVELOPMENT CELL.
ACTIVITIES ASSOCIATED WITH CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE SCHEME.
CONTINUING EDUCATION CELL.
The activity under the CMSIC are directed so as to establish M.R.E.C. as an institution of excellence contributing to the dual purpose of industrial and Institutional growth and development. The center aims at increasing the exposure provided to the students and faculty with regards to the operations of industrial units and equipment.
Industrial project consultancy will be encouraged and administratively supported by the centre.
