The total intake at first year B.E./B.Arch level is 378. It includes 175 seats from Rajasthan state and 175 seats from other states  Besides 10 seats are filled from SC/ST candidates belonging to other states and reserved for Foreign Nationals. Fifty percent seats allotted to Rajasthan State are filled through a centralised state level committee through common PRE ENGINEERING TEST (PET) conducted by Malviya Regional Engineering College.
